Welcome to OUSSA! Library information

We hope that you enjoy your OUSSA course here in Oxford and find the Continuing Education Library at Rewley House useful in preparing your essay.

Please do come and see us in the Library. We are a friendly bunch and will be happy to show you where to find books as well as e-books and e-journals to help you research your topic.

We also have study spaces!   Top tip: although the reading room is the nicest study space, if it’s hot during your OUSSA week, the lower library is much cooler!

Books and journals for researching your essay in print and online

The Library will have a selection of books, journals which will be useful in researching your essay.

You can search the Library catalogue SOLO at http://solo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk    However, bear in mind that SOLO covers over 100 libraries in Oxford!!!    Limit your search to the Continuing Education Library so that you only see the books at Rewley House!*

You can borrow 2 books at a time for 2 days. In addition you can use the University of Oxford’s collections of e-books and e-journals from computers in the Library (and in many cases from your own device if it is connected to Bodleian Libraries Wi-Fi).

*Most OUSSA students only have members of the Continuing Education Library at Rewley House and so will not be able to use the other libraries listed on SOLO. The exception is students taking the Certificate in Higher Education who can use all the Libraries in the Bodleian group.

Using Library computers, copiers and Wi-Fi

To use Library computers, copiers and Wi-Fi (for example to access ebooks and ejournal) you will need a Bodleian Libraries username and password, please speak to Library staff for details.
