This online bibliography indexes German- and foreign-language academic publications on German history published between 1949 and 2015. It captures details of monographs, edited volumes (including individual contributions), periodical articles, source editions, reference works and bibliographies. Where possible, literature that is not distributed via the publication market is also included. Works in neighbouring disciplines as well as the historical ancillary sciences were taken into account if relevant to German history. Only a limited range of literature pertaining to local history is admitted. In order to obtain a complete bibliography, searchers in these areas are advised to also consult the respective regional bibliographies or the meta-search engine Virtuelle Deutsche Landesbibliographie.

The Swiss historical bibliography, published since 1913, and available online from 1999. The bibliography is published annually. It indexes Swiss and foreign monographs and periodical articles, including scientific publications as well as grey literature relating to Swiss history, from the prehistoric time to the present. Within the bibliography the records are listed in chronological order and according to subject matter. The topics covered are auxiliary sciences of history, cantonal, regional and local history, ecclesiastical, legal, social history and history of culture and economy and others.

The Italian historical bibliography which indexes historical research published in Italy, including those in other languages, if they are relevant for Italian history. The period coverage ranges from prehistory to contemporary history. An introductory section covers Auxiliary Sciences, Bibliography and Historiography. While the printed bibliography started in 1942, the online version starts in 2000.
