We are delighted to be able to announce the purchase of some major resources.
As part of the Libraries’ ongoing commitment to invest in e-resources for its users, a significant number of new databases have arrived and are now available to staff and students of Oxford University and readers of Bodleian Libraries. These databases, which are focused on subjects in the Humanities, are now available on SOLO and OxLIP+.
The more than 10 databases will prove particularly useful to literary and history scholars, researchers and students. The purchase of the e-resources has long been planned as part of the implementation of the move of the History Faculty Library to the Radcliffe Camera.
Purchases include:
- Medieval Family Life
- First World War: Personal Experiences
- London Low Life
- Popular Culture in Britain and America, 1950-1975
- Victorian Popular Culture (part IV will be released later this year)
- Confidential Print: Africa, 1834-1966
- Confidential Print: Middle East, 1839-1969
Simultaneously, the Vere Harmsworth Library has also purchased US History databases (The American West: Sources from the Everett D. Graff Collection at the Newberry Library, Chicago and Virginia Company Archives: The Ferrar Papers, 1590-1790) and shared the cost of Popular Culture in Britain and America, 1950-1975.
