HFL books can now be borrowed

The Bodleian History Faculty Library’s books are now located in the Gladstone BeFunky_polariodradcamLink.

Our books are now available to be borrowed from the Lower Camera Reserve Desk in the Radcliffe Camera.

When can I borrow?

Books can be borrowed from Monday to Friday 9.00-17.00.  These reduced hours are a temporary measure and times will be extended from October. Books can be used in the Library at other times.

The Radcliffe Camera is open Monday to Friday 9.00-19.00 and Saturday 10.00-16.00.  This means that during September books can only be used in the Library usde for reference use only in weekday evenings 17.00-19.00 and on Saturday. Borrowing times will increase in October.  Remember that the Gladstone Link closes half an hour before the Camera (currently 18.30 on weekdays and 3.30 on Saturdays).

What can I borrow?

HFL books in the Gladstone Link and Lower Radcliffe Camera can be borrowed.  However, the Set Text collection in the Upper Camera and Local History collection in the Gladstone Link are for reference use only at all times.

Where can I borrow and return books?

You can borrow HFL material from the Lower Camera Reserve Desk in the Radcliffe Camera.  Books can be returned in the book return box next to the desk. Staff will be emptying this box regularly.

Who can borrow?

Borrowing is available to current University members who have registered as HFL borrowers.  You can register at the Lower Camera Reserve Desk.  All other Bodleian Library readers can use the books in the Library only.

How many books can I borrow?

We are still issuing vacation loans, so readers can borrow up to 40 items at a time.  Vacation loans are due back on Monday 1st October.
