New History books in the Bodleian (week 18 March)

63 books were received in the Bodleian Library this week. Check out details in LibraryThing.

There is something for British history and histories of most European countries:

  • medieval history (Anglo-Saxon kings & queens, saints in Byzantium, Eleanor of Montfort)
  • early modern history (Tudors: Henry VIII, Jane Seymour, Machiavelli)
  • modern history (18thC Turkish wars, Napoleon I, 1812 Constitution in Spain, Ireland, WWI, Gramsci,  Hitler, WWII)
  • post-1945 history (Spain, 1960s students, post-Holocaust)
  • history of sience and medicine (medieval hospitals, alchemy, medieval physical sciences)

Check these out by using the browse and tag features in LibraryThing to see what is there. Most of these will soon also be available in the History New Books Display, Upper Reading Room, Old Bodleian Library.
