Reading list book not held by the Library? Let us know

recommend a book 474 x 267 ANAre there titles on your History course reading list that the Bodleian History Faculty Library doesn’t hold? 

Are there books for your History Thesis the Library doesn’t hold? 

You can recommend titles for the Library to purchase using our online book recommendation form.

If you provide contact details when filling in the form, library staff will contact you to let you know if the book will be bought.  They can also arrange to reserve the book for you to use when it arrives in the Library.

The Library does have the book but all of the copies are out on loan
You can place a reservation on a book via SOLO that is out on loan and you will be informed by email when the book is ready for you to collect.  The SOLO online guide explains how to place reservation or staff in the Library can show you how.   If you think that we need more copies of this book, please let us know by using the online recommendation form.  We might be able to purchase more copies or look into making some of our existing copies short loans.

The Library does have a copy that says it’s available on the catalogue but I can’t find it on the shelves
If you think a book is missing from the shelves you can let us know by filling in our online missing book form.  Library staff will search for the book and can put it on hold for you if we find it.  We can also help you to find alternative copies.
