Calling all graduates! The Information Fair will take place on Wed 30 Oct 3-5pm, Examination Schools

This is YOUR chance to meet specialist librarians and archivists to find our what sources and resources are available to you in Oxford libraries, incl. Bodleian Libraries and college libraries.

There are stalls for

  • sources on all periods (medieval to modern),
  • some topics (legal history, art history, history of medicine)
  • type of materials (maps, British Government papers, visual & film sources)
  • other useful tools: RefWorks, Information Skills training, Oxford Research Archive

Browse through 27 stalls at your leisure anytime between 3 and 5pm, North Writing School, Exam Schools, and meet an experienced graduate who will share with you her Top 10 Tips.

All Oxford University History graduates are encouraged to drop in on this fair, which is conceived as a gateway to the university’s information resources.

Oxford is fortunate in having rich library and archival holdings and electronic resources. Discover where they are and meet expert archivists and librarians from the Bodleian Libraries and archives and also college libraries and archives from across Oxford.

Stalls cover a range of information including:

Calling all History graduates: Information Fair 2-4pm Wed. 26 Oct

Information Fair

 All graduates are encouraged to drop in on the Information Fair, which is conceived as a gateway to the university’s information resources: its library, archival and special collections holdings and its electronic resources.

The event is your chance to meet expert archivists and librarians from the Bodleian Library, rich in British and European Collections, and of libraries holding collections in US, Indian, Latin American, Slavonic and African & Commonwealth history.

All periods, from medieval to modern will be represented, including the archives for medievalists, early modern and modern papers, the John Johnson Collection of Printed Ephemera and the Conservative Party Archive. The librarian from the Map Department can introduce you to the historical map collections held in the Bodleian Library but also explain how you can create your own maps.

We will also have experts for History of Science & Medicine as well as History of Art / Visual Sources and Film history.

Talk to College librarians and archivists to discover their rich collections which might be on your doorstop and stop at the RefWorks stall to see how it managing citations could become a whole lot easier.

Finally, meet survivors at the Top 10 Tips from a Graduate stall.There will also be a Top 10 Tips talk at 14:45-15:00, Room 1.
