New library system: which password to use?

Following a number of enquiries, this blog post clarifies the use of the two passwords which Oxford members need to use to make the most of Bodleian Libraries services:

1. University members should login into SOLO with their Single Sign-On username and password. This will let you see

  • the availability of a book/journal issue (available, on loan, requested)
  • your patron functions (placing stack requests, renewing, etc.),
  • your e-shelf (bookmarked books, journals, etc.)
  • give seamless remote access to subscription resources if you are off-campus

Remember to log off if you are using a PC/laptop other than your own!

2. You will need to continue to use your University/Library card barcode and password in order to access Bodleian Libraries wireless network and to logon to Library PCs. It’s the same username and password you will have used for OLIS.

Non-Oxford members and external readers will use the Library card barcode and password to check the status of books, place Holds, etc as well as logon to Library PCs and Bodleian Libraries wireless network.

If you can’t remember the password associated with your University/Library card barcode, you can reset it yourself at https://register.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/cgi-bin/rescue.
