Bodleian Libraries launches new Scan and Deliver service

On 16th April the Bodleian Libraries quietly launched Scan & Deliver, a service offering an electronic document delivery service for items held in our Book Storage Facility. Instead of requesting the physical item to a reading room, you can request scans of sections (articles, chapters) direct to desktop.

Scan & Deliver option appears next to Hold once you have signed into SOLO as a using your Single Sign On

Scan & Deliver simply offers a convenient alternative to ordering and copying or scanning these items yourself. The service is currently offered for collections from the Book Storage Facility. About 6 million items are eligible. The service is open to all current University of Oxford academics, students, and staff. At this stage it is not open to external readers. There is a charge.

Scan & Deliver is paid for using your PCAS account.

Scan & Deliver is integrated into SOLO. You need to be logged in with SSO. Once you click on the Location tab of a title stored in the BSF, you will be offered a Hold as well as a Scan & Deliver request option. Clicking on the latter will take you down the route of placing a scan request.

Provide details of the article, chapter or pages required.

More details , FAQs, terms and conditions and contact details for the Scan & Delivery team, are available here: http://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/services/scan-and-deliver.

The service is still very new so feedback and comments are welcome!
