Plagiarism workshop 15th May 9.00 – 12.30 for staff or graduate students who teach

Plagiarism workshop Exeter College, Saskatechewan Room 15th May 9.00 – 12.30 am
 
This workshop is particularly intended for those involved in tutorial teaching.  It will be a participative event where tutors can draw on the experience of others working in the same environment.   The Junior Proctor, Dr David Harris, will be giving a short presentation on plagiarism from the Proctor’s viewpoint.
 
We will :

Discuss ways of helping students to understand what constitutes plagiarism and how to avoid it
Explore how teaching might be designed in order to reduce opportunities for plagiarism
Introduce participants to ways of detecting plagiarism
Help participants to understand Oxford University’s disciplinary procedure and penalties for plagiarism
 
This event has been jointly organised by the Oxford Learning Institute and the Oxford University Library Services and is hosted at Exeter College, by kind permission of the Rector and Fellows.
