British and Irish Legal Information Institute is now benefiting from three years of work on it by the OpenLaw Project to improve its “website navigation and search functions” and enhance its content. On the first front, much has been achieved from a new look home page to improvement to wild cards. As to the second, there are 2 impressive improvements achieved, and one still in the making. First, there are virtual on line casebooks for 16 subject areas via the Leading Case Law by Subject search option. Secondly, some 212 old Law Commission reports (1965-2000), and 158 consultation papers (1966 to 2001) are aslo now on line. Finally, the beginnings libraries of freely available Books and Journals are to be encouraged.
