Flare Index to Treaties

By | 2 April 2009
The Flare Index to Treaties brings together the details of nearly 2,000 of the most important multilateral treaties (1856 to date) – and its search functions are a godsend to those of us who have – or in the case of librarians given- only a woolly, confused or half-informed idea as to what the exact title/dates of a treaty may be.
Three grateful cheers for another badly need tool brought to us by compiler  Dr Peter Clinch, Cardiff University, and Steven Whittle, IT whizz of IALS.

The keyword search functions allow matches not just to the official title, but also the common/shortened title, subject matter, organisations involved, the exact date or only the year and the place of ratification.  The search results will give you where  treaty can be found both in print and via the internet, the official languages, the name of the official depository for the treaty.
