Computer network summer upgrade

By | 21 June 2012

*** The first session passed without incident, and the computer system was back up and fully operational before readers arrived. However, all though that is an excellent precedent, it is not binding! ***

Over the coming weeks, Oxford University Computing Service is undertaking work to upgrade the University network. This will necessitate periods where library services dependent on these networks may not be available.

On the following dates, all networked library services may be unavailable until 11:30am:

  • Tuesday, 7 August
  • Thursday, 9 August

SOLO, reader workstations, wireless and Ethernet connections, and PCAS may be unavailable during these periods.  There may be delays to the book service from closed stacks on these mornings. The Admissions Department will still operate during the affected periods, though delays may be possible at these times. See http://www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/services/admissions for further information.

Local work affecting individual libraries will be carried out on subsequent dates.  At the moment the Law Bod is scheduled to be upgraded on 31 July 2012.
