Hi there, will there be Oxford Graduate Trainee opportunities for the following academic year 2022-2023 also? I’ve only just spotted this and seen that the deadline is tomorrow midday, so I don’t think I’ll be able to apply unfortunately!
Thank you…
Hello Christina, thanks for your message. Yes, we are hoping to recruit trainees for the following academic year in 2022-2023 so please do apply next year. We usually advertise at the end of the year. Best wishes, Emma
Hi! I am interested in applying for the 2022-2023 academic year. I live in the US, but I have dual citizenship and my family lives in Oxford. I was wondering, there isn’t anything that would inhibit me from applying/interviewing for this if I live in the U.S. currently? I know there are interviews held after shortlisting, so I wanted to see if it would be possible!
Also, I saw that it says the trainee post isn’t suitable for those with a library studies graduate degree. I have started an MLIS degree at an institution in the U.S. as a virtual student (I only have done one semester), but I won’t have acquired the degree before the 2022-2023 program (currently I’m on track for completing it 2023/24) and was wanting to do a program like this during my studies.
Hi Emily, thanks for your message and apologies for the delay in replying. We don’t consider applications from people who are already doing an LIS Masters as per our wording in our job description: Please do not apply if you already have, or are currently doing, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree related to Librarianship and/or Information Management, or if you have already completed a Library Traineeship. Good luck with your course. Best wishes, Emma.
