Update on RSL services while the Bodleian Libraries are closed

UPDATE – Monday 23 March 2020

Due to unavoidable reduction in services related to Covid-19 the Bodleian Libraries will be suspending Scan and Deliver +, Scan and Deliver and eLD print as of 5pm. We apologise for the inconvenience.

All Bodleian Libraries sites will be closed and unstaffed from 5pm on Tuesday 24 March, and it will no longer be possible to return loans to the Vere Harmsworth Library.

The Bodleian Libraries has closed all of its library sites as of 5pm on Tuesday 17th March 2020 until further notice.

All book deliveries and loans have now ceased. Existing book loans will auto-renew until 19 June 2020, and fines will be waived.

Returning loans: The current advice is to hang on to books you have on loan if possible. If you really need to return them (for example, if you are leaving Oxford) then please bring RSL books to the Vere Harmsworth Library as soon as possible, and ring first on 01865 272851 so we can meet you at the door. This arrangement is subject to change.

3D printing and VR equipment loans: Unfortunately it has been necessary for us to suspend the RSL’s 3D printing service and VR equipment loans until further notice. We will be in touch with those outstanding 3D print orders.

The Bodleian Libraries has a wealth of online resources which are available to University members even though our physical library spaces are closed – details can be seen at http://bit.ly/BodleianOnline.

A range of scanning services are now available for printed materials which are no longer directly accessible:

Inter-Library-Loans: Electronic delivery will be available free of charge (accessed at https://solo.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/interlib) but physical loans are suspended.

RSL staff are still working and will be happy to give you every assistance – please see www.bodleian.ox.ac.uk/science/contact for contact details.
