Finding and Converting Geospatial Data

Are you using, or would like to use, geospatial data in your research? Are you having difficulty finding appropriate geospatial data or aren’t sure where to start looking? Do you want to plot your own data? If so, next week Bodleian Libraries will be running an introductory workshop on discovering and navigating the wealth of geospatial data available for digital mapmaking and analysis. The workshop will cover:

•             GIS basics
•             Streaming content via Web Mapping Services (WMS)
•             Locating and converting off-the-shelf geospatial data
•             Locating and converting geographic images
•             Preparing and plotting your own geographic data

This workshop will take place on Thursday 12 Feb 14.00-17.00 at the Radcliffe Science Library.   Please be sure to book your place online as this class is likely to be oversubscribed.
