Keeping up to date with emerging research – painlessly

Keeping up to date with new publications, research papers, announcements from funding bodies and other news is an essential but time consuming task. Bodleian Libraries workshop iSkills: Getting Information to come to you takes the pain out of the process by introducing RSS feeds and email alerts. These technologies allow you to set up automatic alerts so that you are notified when key journals, databases or web sites publish new information in your research area.

To find out more, come along to iSkills: Getting Information to come to you this Friday 26 Feburary 14.40-16.00 (>book your place online).  During the session you will be able to set up an RSS feed reader and to explore scholarly resources for keeping up to date including tables of contents services such as JournalTOCS and Zetoc, alerting services in major bibliographic databases and the use of RSS to monitor key web sites.
