The Oxford Q-Step Centre (OQC) will need a new Teaching Lab from October 2014. The Social Sciences Board has endorsed a proposal to use the Social Science Library West Graduate Study Room for this purpose.

Changes to the West Graduate Study Room:

  • The room will be refurbished and renamed “Oxford Q-Step Centre Teaching Lab”.
  • The OQC will have sole use of this room from 1pm – 6.15pm every weekday of the teaching term (Weeks 1 – 8).
  • Outside of these hours the room will be accessible to all Social Sciences graduate students, as before.

Changes to the Central Graduate Study Room:

  • The thin clients and printer/photocopier will be moved here from the West Graduate Study Room, and it will become the designated ‘Quiet Discussion Room’ for Social Sciences graduate students.

Changes to the East Graduate Study Room:

  • The room will remain a quiet room for Social Sciences graduate students, and will be refurbished in line with SSL users’ feedback for more self-contained work spaces.
