Building Maintenance Update / Noise disturbance

Work on the scaffolding on the main building staircase is progressing more quicky than anticipated.  On Thursday of this week, 13 August, we expect work to begin on the lower flight of steps which lead directly onto the ground floor lobby space. This will in turn render this section of steps unusable to staff, students and visitors. To gain access to the upper floors of the building, people will need to use either the lift or the stairs situated by reception.

Access to the library will continue to be via the building foyer, although care should continue to be taken when crossing this area. It will be possible to access the library as normal in this way from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 15 August. Access via the side door will not be necessary.

There will also be some noise disturbance on Thursday 13 August due to the removal of the bike loops in between the Manor Road and St Cross Buildings. Free ear plugs continue to be available from the library front desk.
