Geography at the Social Science Library

During summer 2019, the Bodleian Libraries Geography collections, comprising over 11,000 books and over 600 dissertations, were successfully transferred from the Radcliffe Science Library (RSL) to the Social Science Library (SSL) and integrated into the open shelf collections. The move took place as part of preparations for the construction of Parks College in the University Science Area which will share some of its buildings with the Radcliffe Science Library.

You can return any Geography books you have borrowed for the Summer Vacation to the RSL or the SSL. Any books returned to the RSL will be transferred to the SSL.

Andy Kernot, our Subject Consultant for Geography, has also moved from the RSL to the SSL. You can contact him via email [andrew.kernot [at] Bodleian.ox.ac.uk] or by phone 01865 272839, or can ask for him at the SSL issue desk.

We look forward to supporting all staff and students from the School of Geography and the Environment (SOGE), and we will welcome over 150 new Geography students to their new home for Library services in Freshers’ Week 2019.
