Introducing BrowZine: easy access to journal article PDFs

We are pleased to announce an enhancement to SOLO which improves access to PDFs of journal articles.

BrowZine gives you seamless access to online journals licensed by the Bodleian Libraries directly from SOLO or from the BrowZine website or app. Coverage is from 2005 onwards.

Via SOLO BrowZine seamlessly directs you straight to the article you want to view. You can then select ‘Download PDF’.

The BrowZine platform also easily allows you to browse journal contents by selecting ‘View Journal Contents’ (see image above). If you have not already done so, you will be asked to sign in with your SSO (Single Sign On).

You will also find in SOLO many electronic Legal Deposit (eLD) articles which now have links directing you to download the subscription copy instead of the more restricted eLD copy.

To search for articles and browse journal contents via the BrowZine website, select your institution (Bodleian Libraries (University of Oxford)) and you will then be prompted to sign in with your Single Sign On. Setting up a BrowZine personal account also gives you access to additional features:

  • You can save full text articles to a personal library
  • You can create a personal bookshelf of your favourite journals
  • You can save article citations to Mendeley, EndNote and other reference management software
  • You can share article citations via LinkedIn, e-mail, Twitter or Facebook
  • You can be alerted to new issues of journals
