New Accessibility Equipment: High Definition Magnifier

As part of the Accessibility Equipment bid in the 2017-2018 academic year, the Social Science Library has obtained a “DaVinci Pro” CCTV/OCR magnifier.
The device can display high-definition enlarged images which can be of particular benefit to readers with low vision.

The device also has an Optical Character Recognition mode which can take snapshots of written text and convert them to audio speech.

Please ask Library Staff for assistance and guidance with the device.
A full instruction manual can be obtained from the Issue Desk.
There is 25 minute video introducing the main features of the device on YouTube.
