This ‘book in sheets’ or ‘book in quires’ has been preserved in the state that it left the printer’s warehouse in 1753. The 79 separate sheets of medium printed paper that comprise the title were gathered and collated by the printer and then folded into five quires. As a quarto format book these gathered quires have been folded on the ‘short cross’ to avoid folding across the page and a number of these ‘quired books’ would have been bundled together and then pressed in a standing press before sale.
