Free access to Fold3.com Black History Collection in February

Fold3 Black History Month bannerIn recognition of Black History Month, Fold3.com has opened up all the records in their Black History Collection for free access until the end of February. You can access the records here or by clicking on the banner above.

Fold3.com is a website that makes available a vast number of digitised historical military records from the US National Archives and other sources, as well as various non-military records including census records, city directories, and newspapers. The Black History Collection contains documents of the American Colonization Society, inventories from South Carolina Estates, records from the Amistad court case, and a whole host of Civil War era records such as military service records and records of the Southern Claims Commission.
