Starting on 26th November, work will be taking place to install solar panels on the roof of the Rothermere American Institute. There may be some minor noise disruption while scaffolding is being built and while the panels are being affixed to the roof.

Research Skills Toolkits, week 8
Would you like to brush up on your IT and information skills for research? Why not come to a Research Skills Toolkit? These free 2 hour workshops introduce key software and online tools for your research, hone your searching and information skills and introduce you to subject specialists.
Topics on offer include: Finding articles, papers, conferences and theses; Keeping up to date and current awareness; Using Endnote to manage your references; Manipulating images using Gimp; Managing your thesis with word; Analyzising data with Excel pivot tables; Podcasting with Audacity; Plagiarism and how to avoid it; Your thesis, copyright and ORA; Finding highly cited journals and measuring research impact.
We are running the workshops in Week 8 Michaelmas (2015) and Week 1 Hilary (2016). All sessions will be at IT Services, 13 Banbury Road.

Job vacancy: Saturday Library Assistant
In addition to a new invigilator for Saturdays, we are seeking to appoint a Library Assistant to work 8 hours per week during term time (weeks 0-8). Six of those hours are to be worked on Saturdays, with the remaining two at a mutually convenient time during the week. The post is paid at grade 2 of the University’s salary structure (£15,765-£18,031 p.a. pro rata).
The appointee will be responsible for the opening and closing of the Library on Saturdays, work at the Issue/Enquiry Desk as the first point of contact for readers, register new readers and assist them in the use of searching tools, library equipment. You will also issue/return book loans using the Aleph system, deliver/receive books to and from readers and transport books to the relevant floors.
