New data resources: election data sets, Polling the Nations

Thanks to the Social Science Library, Americanists in Oxford now have access to two new data resources with relevance for the United States:

U.S. Representative General – County and Congressional District Level Vote 2004, 2006 and 2008 datasets
A selection of high-quality, very detailed election data sets, compiled from official sources relating to U.S. Representative General – County and Congressional District Level Votes for the elections of 2004, 2006 and 2008. This contains a breakdown of voting by State, County, Town and Congressional District. Graphs, statistics and candidate names are also included.

Polling the Nations
A compilation of full-text questions and responses from over 14,000 national, state, and local surveys conducted since 1986 by more than 1,400 polling organisations in 100 countries.

Both are now available via SOLO/OxLIP+, with remote access available to University members via single sign-on.
