A little Friday history: Computers and the Conservatives

The Conservative Party spent a great deal of time during the 1970s and 1980s investigating the ways that new technology could improve analysis and contribute to opinion research. We came across these two booklets in a file on the New Technologies Study Group in 1980 (CRD 4/36/7). Though times have changed (‘a’ computer in your constituency!), it’s interesting to note that the Party was developing custom software early in the game.
