Developments in policy, practice and technology are influencing change in the dissemination of academic research publications and other products of research. The Bodleian Library and Oxford University Research Archive (ORA) are sponsoring a series of events designed to stimulate University debate on issues surrounding changes in scholarly communications.

The first seminar in this series, entitled Disseminating Oxford’s research in the era of electronic communications, will be held at 5.15pm on Thursday 4 March, in the EPA lecture room, Lincoln EPA Science Centre, Museum Road. Refreshments will be available from 4.45pm. The seminar will end with open discussion.

Speakers will be Prof Paul Jeffreys (Director of IT, OUCS) who will talk about disseminating research data, Dr Anne Bowtell (Medical Sciences Division Web Manager) who will cover using departmental websites to publicize  research and Mrs Sally Rumsey (ORA Service and Development Manager) who will discuss OULS developments. The seminar will be chaired by Mr Richard Ovenden (Keeper of Special Collections and Associate Director, Bodleian Library).

All members of the University are welcome.
