The staff of the LawBod are looking forward to meeting new faces, and continuing to do our best to support the studies of both freshers and old hands!
New for everyone! The photocopying, scanning and printing system throughout the Bodleian Libraries has changed: EMOS is now PCAS. You set up a PCAS account online, and all the photocopiers in the LawBod now scan and work as print station to pick up print jobs. The major benefits of the new system are
- Self-service top-up of accounts from any PC – not another card, no feeding Value Loader with change
- Scanning to email and USB memory sticks – save paper
- Duplex printing
- Printing from your laptop
- Send a print job and collect from any Bodleian library within 72 hrs
Don’t worry if you have an old OULS EMOS card – once you have set up a PCAS account, bring your EMOS card into the LawBod, answer a couple of questions the member of staff at the Main Enquiry Desk will ask you – and then we can transfer any outstanding credit from your EMOS card into your PCAS account.
There is a special online libguide about PCAS with instructions on How to set up a PCAS Account How to add credit to a PCAS Account How to link your University Card to your PCAS Account (this is the quickest way to “wake up” the machines to do either copy or print off a job) and how to Copy/Scan & Collect Print Jobs (You can also pick up leaflets when you’re next in the LawBod.)
This year the LawBod is also introducing new, online guides to legal resources which we hope will enable & encourage you to make good use of the wealth of resources both in print and online that are available. Law at Oxford: getting to know the LawBod is aimed at readers unfamiliar with the LawBod in general, or those whose course of study will mean that they will have to explore bits of the LawBod they have never ventured into before!
Details about Postgraduate Induction sessions are available online, please remember to sign up.
Undergraduates, you will be getting details when you arrive at your College – no need to worry now!
