Forbes.com – The World’s Biggest Public Companies

One world: one gigantic market place. This year, 63 countries have Global 2000 entries vs 51 in our inaugural list in 2004. Forbes Global 2000 are the biggest, most powerful listed companies in the world. Our justification for using a composite ranking is simple: One metric alone can give a false impression about corporate size. Our ranking of the world’s biggest companies departs from lopsided lists based on a single metric, like sales. Instead we use an equal weighting of sales, profits, assets and market value to rank companies according to size.

CRN.com – The 2013 Big Data 100

Businesses are struggling with the rapidly increasing volume, speed and variety of information being generated today – what’s come to be known as “big data.” Companies are seeking technologies that not only help them process and manage all that data, but tap into it to develop insights about the markets they compete in as well as their own performance within those markets.

To meet that need, hungry startups and established IT vendors have unleashed a flood of innovative technologies to help businesses collect, manage and analyze big data. Market researcher Gartner recently issued a report declaring 2013 to be the year of large-scale adoption of big data technologies: A survey of IT executives found that 42 percent had already invested in big data technology or planned to do so within a year.

Recognizing that need, we present the inaugural Big Data 100 list, developed by the CRN editorial team, identifying vendors that have demonstrated an ability to innovate in bringing to market products and technologies that help businesses manage big data.

The Business Insider – The 30 Most Creative People In Mobile Advertising

Being creative in mobile advertising is much more difficult than in traditional media.
The real estate — the “creative palette,” if you will — is smaller. The users’ attention span is shorter. The medium itself is new.

And a lot of it can’t be seen easily, the way TV commercials or magazine ads can be seen online.

After extensive research — and reading nominations from movers and shakers in the field — we have ranked the 30 most creative people in the mobile advertising. We defined creativity broadly, from people using the new technology in innovative ways, to those who are creating new tech for the medium, to those with more traditional ideas or design-driven roles.
