The Saïd Business School building, including the Sainsbury Library, will be closed completely from 6pm this Friday (18th August). This is due to an electrical shutdown to allow the electricity company (SSE) to carry out essential upgrades, including the incoming supply to the Park End Street Site (PES). This date and time have been carefully chosen to have minimal impact on school operations.
The Library will be closed from 4.45pm, and the building and car park will be locked from 6pm. During this time there will be no access to Library or the PES building. Please be aware the library should be vacated by 4.45pm and the building by 5.45pm.
The electrical work will be carried out overnight and the building and Library will be open and functioning as normal from 6am on Saturday (19th August). IT equipment in the Library will be available from this time, although the self-issue machine will remain out of use until Monday morning. Over the weekend, to borrow books please fill in one of the book borrowing slips next to the self issue machine.
The Library and the School’s websites and electronic resources are hosted off-site, so these will not be impacted and can continue to be used without disruption.
Please do contact us during staffed hours should you have any questions.
