The Bodleian Libraries recently became a member of the HathiTrust, a major digital repository. In doing so the Bodleian is the first library in UK to join and only the second in Europe. This news offers many advantages for readers:

  • Emergency access to 1.5 million in-copyright items which are temporarily inaccessible in physical libraries.
    • You can access these resources directly via the HathiTrust website using your SSO.
    • Links are also being added to existing records in SOLO where a digital copy is available via HathiTrust. Look for the Full Text via HathiTrust Digital Library button.
  • Access to the HathiTrust Research Center (HTRC) including its “suite of tools and services for text data mining including web-based algorithms”.

We have just added Statista to our Current Database Trials list. This database provides insights and facts across 600 industries and 50+ countries.
You MUST access Statista from a University of Oxford IP address or through the Oxford VPN. Features include:

Whilst business schools remain closed and Bloomberg Terminals cannot be used on campus, Bloomberg are providing alternative routes for accessing business news and information.

Bloomberg Anywhere

The Sainsbury Library is currently offering limited access to Bloomberg Anywhere. Bloomberg Anywhere provides access to the terminal interface remotely. See our LibGuide for details of how to request access.

Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC)

Bloomberg Market Concepts is also now available, but without requiring a request for access. This e-learning course for the Bloomberg Terminal is available online through the Bloomberg for Education website.

Bloomberg.com

Bloomberg Media recently removed the paywall on coronavirus news articles that are particularly helpful at the moment, and will continue to provide free access to critical updates on the pandemic.
