Training needs survey

Library 1:1 Sessions

Feeling overwhelmed by the task of navigating SOLO to find books and journal articles, or exploring multiple business and management related databases and eresources?

You now have the option to book a personalised consultation session with one of our experienced librarians at the Sainsbury Library, either online or in person. This tailored session will provide you with the guidance and support your need to streamline your search and make the most out of the available resources. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Lynda.com is now LinkedIn Learning. You can access this huge library of online, video based, courses, via Molly, the IT Learning Centre’s collection of online learning resources. Courses include a wide range of software and IT related topics (as well as soft skills and business skills) for beginners through to experts.

Online Learning with O’Reilly

Free access to expert-created and curated information covering all the areas that will shape our future – including artificial intelligence, operations, data, UX design, finance, leadership, and more.

The O’Reilly online learning platform (formerly known as Safari Books Online) includes an on-demand digital library providing books, videos, interactive tutorials, and live online classes, including titles from O’Reilly, Packt, No Starch Press, Wiley, Princeton University Press, and others.

This resource requires you to log in with your Oxford SSO again at the O’Reilly homepage.

Eikon Training Day – Monday 11th February

EikonEikon is a financial database which provides “access an incredible depth and breadth of financial analysis data to make smarter decisions”. We offer Eikon to all SBS members and have invited a representative from Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters) to come and run a training day.

All SBS members who currently use, or would like to use, financial databases are invited to come along and learn how Eikon can help with your research.

A representative from Refinitiv will be available to demonstrate Eikon’s features. Feel free to bring your own questions.

Where:
The Andrew Cormack Room, Park End Street. Ask at the library information desk for more information.

When:
Monday 11th February
12 – 1pm: Intro to Eikon (basics for new users including MBA, MFE, MLF, DPhil, faculty)
1:30 – 2:30pm: Training for library staff.
2:30pm onwards: Drop-in sessions for faculty and researchers. Please email with availability to book a time.

EikonEikon is a financial database which will be replacing Thomson One and DataStream. We are currently trialling Eikon and have invited a representative from Thomson Reuters to come and run a training day.
