To tie in with the Weston Library exhibition titled, Treasured, (running until the 26th October 2025), we have created a pop-up book display.
The exhibition in the Weston Library, poses the question ‘What makes a treasure? Is it age, rarity, beauty – or something else?’
Treasured invites you to explore the meaning of value itself through some of the world’s most remarkable books and manuscripts, several of which were acquired with the help of the Friends of the Bodleian which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025.
The book display in the SSL highlights some of the items featured in the exhibition, treasures in national collections and also looks more generally at objects and the stories they tell.
The book display contains books from the Collections Storage Facility (CSF). The items from the CSF are for use in the library only and cannot be borrowed. You are welcome to remove books from the display to look at in the library and return them there afterwards.
